Executive Director / Event Producer
For over 35 years, Sheri has worked in the entertainment industry in live production, industry supports and consultation across genre lines, as well as within the private business sector. Sheri works with clients of all backgrounds - from musicians to private businesses and organizations - through branding, strategic marketing, business development and is an agent and publicist for international touring acts.
With a passion to inspire youth through music, Sheri has worked for over 20 years with artists and music trade organizations to produce youth concerts and workshops with foundations, cities, and schools including youth and city symphonies.
Sheri holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management from Missouri State University 1991, has certifications in facilitation and conflict resolution and fair interviewing and hiring practices, is trained in Roberts Rule of Order, and serves on the I'll Fly Away Foundation Advisory Board.
From 1995 to 1997 Sheri also served on the board of and became the Executive Director of the Disability Advocacy and Support Network (The Network) associated with The Department of Mental Health over 16 counties based out of Springfield, MO - 4 years after the signing of the Americans with Disability Act was put into place. Sheri assisted in helping find supports for people with and families of those with developmental differences by developing not for profit support systems, designing respite programs for families and advocating for individuals in schools and communities and developing and enacting legislation by working with national government entities and speaking at international conferences.
Sheri's motto is: "Everyone is born with a talent. If you choose to use that talent to just benefit yourself, then it can only go as far as your human capabilities allow. However, If you use that talent to serve others, then it is expanded to the collective imaginations of the ones you choose to share it with."
Denise is the owner and operator of The Rustic Cow Ice Cream and Cow Cafe. After having traveled around East Tennessee for 10 years for vacations, and just the love of the area, Denise, with her husband, Darren, had a goal to move to East Tennessee to settle down. With a vision of being a part of a downtown, Denise decided she wanted to develop a place that would benefit the community. Denise used her over 26 years in private consulting in organizational management and office start-ups in the medical field to brand and grow her vision of The Rustic Cow.
After purchasing a 2-story building complex in downtown Newport, TN, the first decision was to put in an ice cream shop where families and individuals of all backgrounds and ages could come and visit and create a community together with the motto - "Because....ice cream doesn't discriminate."
Shortly after, specialty coffees with sweet treats was opened, and now the rest of the building includes a RC Mercantile Event Space and an event center that is being remodeled to now be known as The RC Entertainment and Event Center.
The Rustic Cow Ice Cream and Cow Cafe is now a shining beacon in downtown Newport, TN and has sparked positive change in the area.
Taylor Blagg is a graduate University of South Florida 2017, holding her Bachelors Degree in Biological Health Science. Taylor has experience in corporate organizational bookkeeping, and is currently a Nanny for three children involved in sports and music events.
Taylor volunteers with youth at church as well as the AV Team, and is currently taking piano lessons. Taylor and her husband Zach are avid Disney goers, and enjoy life with their dogs Zoey and Belle.
Advisory Board - Music and Education
Andre is a Cocke County School System Counselor, and holds a Masters of Education in School Counseling. A musician and lover of Bluegrass, Gospel and Traditional Music, Andre has spent over a decade as an after school music teacher, and has inspired hundreds of young musicians in the Del Rio/Grassy Fork area. Some have gone onto careers in music.
Andre has held several events on his own through the years to benefit the young people of Cocke County, and we are honored to have him as an advisor with our educational events and growing music workshop programs.
Advisory board - Sciences and Education
Jillian is a local author from Newport, TN and has written a series of children’s books about deep breathing, power posing, hiking, and more. Using her background in wellness and natural sciences, Jillian hopes to help others improve their health and the environment around them.
Jillian is currently the Natural Sciences Biology Lab Specialist at Walters State Community College. Her education includes a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry from Carson-Newman University, a Master Degree in Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications at University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and she is currently a doctoral student in Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries at University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She was previously a certified personal fitness trainer, yoga instructor, wellness coach, weight management coach and more through AAAI/ISMA.
Jillian has been featured in one of our book reading events, and we are excited to be able to have her as a volunteer, and to help us inspire young writers and environmentalists through the foundation.
Advisory Board - Business and Music
Branden Joynt is a well known entrepreneur with businesses in Newport, TN and Ohio. Branden owns Newport Cinema 4 that not only shows movies, but supports the community through events and programs.
Branden also serves on the Cocke County Labor Board.
As a child prodigy on piano, Branden won composition competitions, and at age 16 was featured in piano instructional videos for Yamaha Pianos.
The RC Foundation is honored to have him as a business advisor as well as an inspiration to young musicians and business entrepreneurs.
